Experience the unique Georgia Gourmet, Culture and Wine tour. Georgia is considered the "cradle of wine" with a wine-growing tradition that goes back over 8,000 years. Immerse yourself in this fascinating culture. This wine history makes Georgia probably the oldest wine-growing country in the world. Of course, you can also find wines matured in wooden barrels or steel tanks in Georgia, but traditionally the wine is made in a clay amphora. Most of the time these clay amphorae - called Qvevris in Georgia - are sealed with stone and clay. In the amphora it gains its own, natural taste, which has little in common with wine matured in a stainless steel tank.
The old tradition of Qvevri winemaking in Georgia has been recognized by UNESCO as a very important intangible cultural heritage since 2013. Since then, worldwide interest in Georgia has awakened. Ever since wine journalist Alice Feiring put Georgian wines on the TOP 10 list in a "Forbes" list some years ago, attention for the small country east of the Black Sea has increased significantly.
Nevertheless, Georgia is still largely unknown to us. This is understandable, because the individual tourist can hardly travel to this country without Georgian or Russian. Outside of Tbilisi, hardly any English is spoken. Georgia attracts with exciting, indigenous wines and ..... with unparalleled hospitality.
So I am very pleased to invite you on a culinary wine discovery trip right into the center of the most beautiful wine-growing regions in the Kakheti region. Enjoy Georgian cuisine with many different delicious dishes. This trip is also a cultural trip, because at the interface between Europe and Asia you will discover some old churches, monasteries and castles and experience breathtaking landscapes between the Lesser and Greater Caucasus.
During this trip you will always stay in great 5* hotels. We will meet in Tbilisi on Tuesday, June 03, 2025. After exploring the capital, you will get to know the wine region of Kakheti and the Caucasus by coach in the following days and return home with unforgettable and enriching impressions.
